2020 Far North Queensland
After Jenni finishes her appointment with the eye doctor, we head north intending to stop overnight at Taree. On the way, Jenni phones ahead and books a room for the night.  We arrive around 19:00. The motel turns out to be a bit of a dump but this is the least bad of the accommodation we  book for the next few days. It rains all the way to Taree and overnight as well. The next morning is cold and windy.
This is our first experience with the tracking procedure for Covid-19. This cafe is a little primitive as most places along the way use a QR code. This is the Manning River. It is one of Australia’s few large river systems not to be dammed. The river starts at an elevation of nearly 1500 metres in the Barrington Tops and Backwater Creek areas. After breakfast, we stroll down the main street back to the car.
The main street has been reduced to one lane each way with the space gained turned into parking and public space. It is vastly more attractive without B Doubles 2029-07-13FNQld-1
