1986 - Our lives in America
October 1986   We go to a contest in Clovis near Fresno. These are always a great contest even if it's a six hours, 350 miles, drive away. I'm still flying my 1984 plane from Australia. Keith Trostle's Focke Wulf 190. Keith is an excellent builder, one of the best. Gary Akers, a very nice chap from Riverside near L.A.. I meet him at several contests over the years and he always flies this quite old Thunderbird.
Gid Adkison's new Laser, number two in the series. In the background are the first iteration of Bob Whitely's Laser and Paul Walker's Bad News Some nicely built planes are in attendance. Kirk Mulinex used to make foam wings with John Poynter, they called them J&K Wings. 6'8" Dino Mancinelli poses with a 3½ ounce stunter.
