Model Planes

January 1990    Club picnic day. No Nationals this new year as the 1989 Nationals, due to be held in Bunbury, W.A. are cancelled because of ZERO entries. This is the last time we see Ian and Julie together. Peter is bored. Jan- March 1990    I now have a new workshop in which I can start to build planes again.
To speed up construction, I use the wing from the Laser that Bob Whitely had crashed. The pencil lines are from where the fuselage of the Laser once sat. While I was living with Dennis and Bonnie, Dennis and I stripped the wing of its shrink-film covering and got it ready to install in a new plane. 1990 0005 a Sunday 4 March 1990    New plane finally finished the day before Ted and Shareen arrive from San Francisco. This is the first plane I build in my new workshop. January 1990    Unfortunately, during the year, I lose it in the sun and crash it beyond repair.
Late January 1990    Ted carries out the initial flights during his visit After I crash this plane, I now only have my US-built plane in suitable condition. 1990    At this time of my life, I can usually build a plane every six months. Ready for the gold.
This plane is a failure. It seems the canted engine causes problems with hinging. I give this plane to Ian Smith to use as an engine drone. Flies lousy. I decide to take my US plane to the Nationals. January 1990     Another new plane is under construction
