After our usual breakfast, Jeff dropped me at Bad Tölz Hbf where I just managed to catch the 9:01 to München.

My plan was three fold: do the hop-on-hop-off, get Jeff’s medical report & do some shopping.
3 Wednesday 30 June, 2010 Jenni's story
I caught the tour bus outside München’s Hbf at a cost of €18 for the Gross (big) tour: this one includes Schloss Nymphenburg & the Olympic Stadium complex that also includes the BMW Museum.

Whilst good to the extent that it takes you near many of the tourist attractions, the tour was very long (caused in part by the traffic) & I think, not as good as others that I’ve been on.

It is also limiting in that the buses for the ‘big tour’ only run every hour; so it really limits what you can reasonably see in a day. In Sydney & other places I’ve used the h-o-h-o buses, they seem to be run by the city council; in Munich, there are about 3 companies to choose from.

Anyways, I enjoyed some of the explanations about some of the places we’d already seen. I was also impressed that many places of significance during the Nazi period were highlighted.

There are tributes (statues, etc) to the many conflagrations that affected Germany over the centuries: wars with France & Russia among others.

I left the bus at the Schloss Nymphenburg hoping to do a quick tour then rejoin the next bus.
9 Wednesday 30 June, 2010 Jenni's story
It was not to be; the palace is huge. So I walked around the main building & took some photos in the beautiful gardens (I saw only a fraction of these). Then back on the bus so I could get back to the clinic at a reasonable time.

After as snack & some wi-fi at Starbucks, I walked to the clinic via Schillerstrasse.
11 Wednesday 30 June, 2010 Jenni's story
It was interesting: several sex shops among many Middle Eastern & Indian shops. I felt a little out of place so hurried along to the clinic.

The purpose was to find out if I could collect the report since Dr Farhod hadn’t received it yet.
13 Wednesday 30 June, 2010 Jenni's story
I was politely but firmly told that “Of course it wasn’t done yet; it takes 3 weeks. This is normal.” So, off I walked again.

By this time, my damn feet were killing me; it was really hot & humid (again).
15 Wednesday 30 June, 2010 Jenni's story
I wandered through some of the lovely shopping streets & found my way to the Virtuelenmarkt (?) not far from Marienplatz. It’s a colourful place where you can buy all sorts of delicacies & staples, drink beer, eat ice cream & buy knick knacky things.

After some more photos, I made my way back to the station for the return trip to Bad Tölz.
